'Conan Exiles' Guide: How To Get Mounts
KEY POINTS
- Horse foals must be tamed inside a Stable and equipped with a salad when matured
- Rhinos can be found in Savannah biomes
- Demon mounts will go berserk after a set amount of time
The world of "Conan Exiles" is vast. Running to and from points of interest can get very tedious, especially if player homes are situated far away from useful resources.
Due to the limitations of the game's fast travel system, exploring the world using mounts may arguably be the best option players have. Animal mounts are not only faster than the ordinary person, but they can also be leveled up to offer even more benefits in the future.
Mount Taming Basics
First, players will need to unlock the Stablemaster and Saddle-maker feats from the Knowledge tab in order to craft Stables and saddles. The former is used to house animals, while the latter is for actually mounting them.
How to Tame Horses
Horses are the staple mounts that most people will be able to use in the Exiled Lands. To tame one, players need to find a Horse Foal and take them back to their Stables.
Foals can be found roaming several locations on the map. One of the earliest spots players can visit is the large island right by the border of the desert and the jungle.
Scour the beach to find a few foals roaming about. Simply pick it up, bring it back home and place it inside a Stable. Make sure to have some plant fibers to use as animal feed.
How to Tame Rhinos
Rhinos can be tamed the same way as horses. Players need to find a baby rhino, but instead of taking them to a Stable building, they must be placed inside an Animal Pen. Here, they can be converted like any other animal.
Unlike horses, rhinos are tougher and they will fight any nearby hostile creature.
Demonic Summoning
The "Age of Sorcery" update added the ability to summon demonic horses and rhinos from a Circle of Power. Once players upgrade their Tome of Kurak enough times, they will eventually unlock the Abyssal Mount ability that will let them call upon a demonic mount for a short period of time.
Keep in mind that all summoned demons will turn hostile eventually, so it's best to not leave them inside bases where they can wreak havoc.
