Congress has no consensus on climate bill
There is no consensus at this time on the climate bill, said U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer said on Tuesday, according to Reuters.
Congressman Hoyer told reporters he did not know if an effort by Democrats to write a climate bill had reached a deadlock,' adding that it was possible that the bill may be finalized by the end of May.
The climate bill is seen as one of the most important pieces of energy legislation in decades. It aims to regulate emissions of greenhouse gases which pose a threat to human health and welfare, contributing to global warming.
