Congress Job Approval Hits All-Time Low: Gallup
It's bad news all around for Washington.
The latest Gallup poll shows that only 13 percent of the country approves of the job Congress is doing.
It also shows that disapproval of Congress is high at 84 percent.
"Americans have usually not held Congress in high regard, but currently they have a more negative view of the institution than any other time Gallup has measured," Gallup's Jeffrey Jones wrote.
Gallup first started measuring Americans on Congressional approval in 1974. The average rating has been 34 percent.
The poll results come after President Obama received a low jobs approval rating. On Aug. 15, Gallup polls revealed that the president had a 40 percent job approval rating. This was the lowest weekly average of his administration, Gallup said.
