Consumer Reports lifts warning on Lexus SUV
Consumer Reports lifted on Friday its warning not to buy Toyota Motor Corp's Lexus GX 460 sports utility vehicle, after the automaker recalled vehicles for repairs and made changes on the assembly line.
Toyota halted sales on April 13 when Consumer Reports warned that the 2010 Lexus GX 460 was a safety risk due to rollover concerns in some turns.
Toyota and its dealers resumed sales of the luxury SUV on April 29, after finding a fix for some 9,400 consumer-owned vehicles and making changes in production of new ones.
Consumer Reports and Toyota have said they are not aware of any injuries related to the issue.
The rise of Toyota to be among the top sellers in the U.S. market in the 1990s was in part fueled by positive reviews of its vehicles by Consumer Reports.
