A convicted sex offender in Utah has been arrested after he exposed himself to trick-or-treating children and invited them into his home, police said.

The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Steven Little, from Provo, was on probation for lewdness involving children while he was arrested Saturday. The police booked Little into Utah County Jail on charges of five counts of lewdness and three counts of lewdness involving a child, East Idaho News reported.

Several children who were trick-or-treating knocked at Little's front door Saturday night. Little opened his door naked and invited the children inside his home for candy, according to the arrest affidavit.

One of the children filmed the man while another called his father who was across the street. When the child's father approached the door, Little again opened the door naked. The child's father then asked the suspect to turn his lights off and not to answer the door anymore before calling the police.

When the police arrived at the scene, the children gave the video evidence to them. At least five children over 14 and three under 14 saw the man naked, police said.

"When questioned about why he answered the door nude, he said he had just got out of the shower and that's why he was nude. And they said, 'Why did you ask the kids inside?' and he said that's where the candy was," Austin Williams, Provo police master officer, said, Desert.com reported.

Meanwhile, an investigating officer requested the judge not to grant bail to the suspect "as he has proved to be a danger to children and the public with his continued behavior.”

In March 2019, Little was convicted after pleading guilty to lewdness involving a child, for an incident that happened on Sept. 22, 2018, at the Provo Recreation Center. Little was arrested for approaching a stall door in the men’s locker room naked while watching and making sexually suggestive sounds to a 10-year-old child using the bathroom.

Little was given a suspended jail term and the court ordered him to be on probation for three years. According to court records, Little was also ordered to spend 45 days in jail as part of probation. However, it is unclear if he had served the same through a work diversion program.
