Despite the horror that the coronavirus has brought to the NBA and the world, there will always be something good that will emerge out of it. We’ve been hearing news of another NBA player being added to the list of the athletes infected by the virus – but not this time around.

Reports have surfaced that Detroit Pistons forward Christian Wood will soon be out of that list as he is made great progress during recovery his recovery. In an article by Dana Gauruder of Detroit Free Press, the Pistons forward is "feeling great and fully recovered" per his agent Adam Pensack.

Wood was the third NBA player to test positive to coronavirus and it’s been almost two weeks since the diagnosis. The 24-year old big man was described as asymptomatic – showing no symptoms – when he was diagnosed with COVID-19. Wood was mostly matched up with Utah center Rudy Gobert when the Pistons faced the Jazz days before the news broke out that Gobert tested positive, though, it isn’t confirmed if he caught the virus from defending the 27-year old center from France or form somebody else. He finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists but Detroit lost to Utah at home, 111-105.

Sources say that Wood still has to pass a few medical tests to confirm if the virus is indeed gone in his system but he is expected to be cleared by the doctors on Thursday.

The isolation period of the team also ended this afternoon as they didn’t exhibit symptoms of the said virus. According to Kirkland Crawford of Detroit Free Press, the team tested the 17 people who were part of the traveling party, which included five players, before finding out that Wood tested positive.

The fans congratulated the undrafted wingman on social media as he becomes the first player to recover fully from the virus.
