Several people have been criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin ever since he launched an invasion of Ukraine that has killed and displaced many. Now, an Australian doctor has ridiculed Putin's botched cosmetic work, and likened him to an "elderly Cushingoid cat."

In an Instagram post, Dr Jake Sloane of Sydney posted a side-by-side image showing a younger Putin and a more current picture. He called out the 69-year-old for having “too much filler” and compared him to an "elderly Cushingoid cat."

Cushingoid is the constellation of symptoms and signs caused by an excess of cortisol hormone, which is called Cushing syndrome. It is an uncommon disease in cats and more common in dogs, according to icatcare.

“This is an isolated lapse of ethics where I will publicly ridicule someone for how ridiculous they look after injectables,” Sloane wrote, along with the hashtags #catface, #pillowface and #toomuchfiller.

He also called him an “utter piece of s---.”

There have been several rumors in the past hinting that Putin had undergone cosmetic procedures. Some cosmetic surgeons believe they have been done in a bid to improve his tough guy image. Among the procedures are said to be botox, cheek fillers and a chin and eye lift, according to News.com.au.

The first rumors reportedly made the rounds when Putin attended a meeting in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2011 with a black eye. Many suggested the bruise could be the result of the filler. Russian New Times magazine at the time quoted four plastic surgeons who agreed the bruise was likely from forehead Botox injections.

However, some have also claimed Putin’s drastically changing face isn’t due to a series of cosmetic procedures, but because of alleged use of steroids.

Several doctors and former UK Foreign Secretary, Lord David Owen, have accused Putin of taking steroids

“Look at his face, see how that has changed – he now has an oval face,” Lord Owen told British digital radio station Times Radio, Men's Health reported. “People who said, ‘Oh, it’s plastic surgery or Botox,’ I don’t believe that at all.

“He’s on either anabolic steroids as a bodybuilder – and he’s very proud of his muscles and strips to the waist and everything like that – or he’s on corticosteroids. If you’re on these drugs, this gives you this face.”
