Cote De Pablo Teases Ziva David's Return To ‘NCIS’; Watch Trailer For ‘The Dovekeepers’
Do you still miss Ziva David on “NCIS”? So do we! Actress Cote de Pablo was a staple on the CBS drama for nine years before leaving the series in 2013. Fans were devastated to see her character go, but the good news is that she might return in the future.
During a Television Critics Association panel for her coming CBS miniseries, “The Dovekeepers,” de Pablo revealed that Ziva David could return to “NCIS” “under the right circumstances.”
“I think the fact that they never killed the character off is very telling,” de Pablo dished.
For those unfamiliar with de Pablo’s exit, her character was written out during episode 2 of Season 11. In the episode, Ziva was in Tel Aviv to “reconnect” with herself. While she was overseas, a terrorist group attacked her former NCIS team – and they discovered that she was their next target.
Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) traveled to Tel Aviv to protect Ziva, but ended up getting tangled up in some drama. When he finally did track her down, Ziva admitted that she had been visiting places from her past. She was struggling with the thought that “there’s someone out there crying” for every man she kills and wanted to start over away from Washington. The episode ended with Ziva telling DiNozzo that she loved him and kissing him before he boarded the plane.
A Ziva-DiNozzo reunion on “NCIS” could be in the future, but right now Cote de Pablo is gearing up for her return to TV in “The Dovekeepers.” The miniseries is based on the historical novel of the same name from Alice Hoffman.
According to TV Line, the two-night event will follow a “group of extraordinary women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival at the siege of Masada.” Watch the trailer below:
“The Dovekeepers,” starring Cote de Pablo, Rachel Borsnahan (“House of Cards”), Kathryn Prescott (“Finding Carter), Sam Neill (“Alcatraz”) and Diego Boneta (“Pretty Little Liars”) will air Tuesday, March 31. and Wednesday, April 1, at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
