Couple Arrested For Attacking, Robbing Man After Luring Him With Sex
A woman and her boyfriend were arrested after they attacked a man with a hammer during a home invasion robbery in St. Augustine, Florida, on Saturday morning.
Jade Buck, 21, arranged to meet the unidentified victim at his home for sex. Upon arrival, the victim gave her $60 after which an argument ensued between the two. Buck then signaled her boyfriend, 30-year-old Francisco Valdez, and another unidentified accomplice, who were waiting outside to come in.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the two men entered the residence and struck the victim in the head numerous times with a hammer. The suspects then removed the man’s clothing and took his wallet and phone before fleeing from the residence, WJXT reported.
Police arrived at the scene and found blood on the living room floor. Emergency medical personnel reached the residence and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, before being transported to the hospital, the victim told officials that “at least two people” attacked him and took away his phone and wallet. Police were able to trace the suspects and take them into custody.
During police interrogation, Valdez denied any involvement in the incident and described Buck as his girlfriend. Buck, however, told the officials the robbery was planned by Valdez and that he brought the hammer to attack the victim.
Investigation revealed that Buck, Valdez and their accomplice purchased crack cocaine after each of them received proceeds from the robbery, Historic City News reported.
Buck and Valdez were held at the St Johns County Detention Facility on aggravated battery and robbery charges. Their accomplice remained untraced as of Monday night.
In a similar incident in 2017, a Florida woman helped her boyfriend rob her ex’s home. Bianca Schaefer instructed her boyfriend to rob her ex’s home and told him where the money would be. She also asked him to steal a PlayStation 3 for her. The victim informed police after he saw masked people trying to enter the home. However, by the time authorities arrived, the suspects had fled with items worth $1,850. The couple was taken into custody and charged with home invasion, Click Orlando reported.
