CPAC 2017 Schedule And Full List Of Speakers: Dates, Start Time For Conservative Political Action Conference
The annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was scheduled to officially get underway Wednesday morning, uniting a who's who of right wing politics for four days of seminars, workshops, networking and, of course, speeches in suburban Washington, D.C. The conference officially kicks off at 2 p.m. EST and will take place until Saturday at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, which is about 11 miles south of the White House.
This year's installment was coming after President Donald Trump's election, and many of the key figures associated with his campaign and administration — including Vice President Mike Pence and White House senior counselor Kellyanne Conway — were among those scheduled to speak during CPAC 2017.
The conference found itself the topic of many news articles Monday when organizers rescinded an offer to Milo Yiannopoulos to be its keynote speaker. The disgraced journalist was disinvited after "an offensive video" featured him "condoning pedophilia" surfaced. The fallout continued hours later when he lost his book deal with a major publisher and resigned from Breitbart News on Tuesday.
While it was not immediately clear who would replace Yiannopoulos as the event's keynote speaker, the schedule included a handful of set start times for various speeches.
Thursday, all times are EST:
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, 11:10 a.m.
Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, 12:50 p.m.
White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and White House Senior Adviser Stephen Bannon, 1:05 p.m.
Vice President Mike Pence, 7:30 p.m.
Trump was scheduled to speak at 10:20 a.m. on Friday.
