Craig Carton Salary And Net Worth After Radio Host Is Arrested
Sports radio host Craig Carton was arrested by FBI agents Wednesday at his Manhattan home on investment fraud-related charges. He was reportedly involved in a phony ticket scam where he swindled $2 million dollars. It led some people to wonder how much the host of “Boomer & Carton” show earned.
Carton, 48, earns a salary of $250,000 per year for his work on WFAN's morning sports talk show “Boomer & Carton,” according to Celebrity Net Worth. He has a net worth of $2 million.
Carton has hosted the morning show with former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason since 2007. “We are aware of the situation and are cooperating with authorities,” CBS Radio said in a statement the New York Daily News.
While CBS was aware to Carton’s arrest, Esiason was not. He assumed Carton had called in sick when Jerry Recco filled in for Wednesday’s morning show. “Boomer Esiason just said he thought Craig Carton called in sick and then he learned he was arrested. Says he's ‘taken aback’ by news,” owner of Golf News Net Ryan Ballengee wrote.
Further details about Carton’s arrest will reportedly be released by the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan, the Daily News wrote.
Another man was reportedly involved in the scam, though he wasn’t immediately identified. They were reportedly charged with securities fraud and wire fraud, WNBC-TV said.
Carton’s plea wasn’t immediately known. At the time this article was written, the radio host’s rep had not issued a statement.
Carton is the father of four children. He started a charity for children with Tourette syndrome, which is called TicTocStop. The radio host and two of his children have Tourette syndrome, WNBC-TV noted.
Carton started his career as a radio host in Buffalo in 1991. He also had gigs in Philadelphia, Cleveland and Denver.
