Old school gamers will instantly recognize Crash and his antics as he runs the expanse of the Wumpa Islands. It was first developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation back in 1996 and has spawned a number of sequels, including “Nitro Kart 3D” in 2008 and “Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled” in 2019.
The news of a “Crash Bandicoot” game for mobile was first heard earlier this year courtesy of “Candy Crush” maker King. They even took to Facebook to tease the game and “unexpectedly” soft-launched it on Android in select regions. Unfortunately, the title came to a stop and raves of it slowly died down until recently.
“Crash Bandicoot: On the Run!” made its return to the mobile scene as King announced that it will be making its way to iOS and Android. IGN said “On the Run!” is currently available for pre-registration via the Google Play Store for Android users and it will also be available on the App Store soon.
Those who pre-register will receive the Blue Hyena Skin from “Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled” when the game is officially launched.
Think of “Crash Bandicoot: On the Run!” as more like “Temple Run” but with more hype and of course, Crash. The game will also feature Dr. Neo Cortex and his ragtag horde of henchmen and Coco Bandicoot. And just like its original counterpart, “On the Run!” will have players well, run in various levels, battle bosses. A base for Crash and Coco will also be introduced, and players can build, upgrade and customize it by gathering rewards and ingredients. There is also an asynchronous multiplayer feature that will allow gamers to go head to head.
While we're delving on mobile games, Tetris is adding a live game show feature on its mobile app for those who dream of playing the retro game for money.
As reported by Engadget, N3TWORK said “Tetris Primetime” will be hosted by actor Millen Baird and will kick off every night at 7:30 p.m. The game show will be “anchored” by Aukland, London, Los Angeles, Berlin, Moscow, New York City and Perth, but it will soon reach a wider audience in different regions.
N3TWORK is also poised to unveil “Tetris Royale,” a 100-man battle royale where the last man standing is declared the winner. The current “Tetris” game will also see an offline marathon mode and a “together” mode where players can invite others to play while talking via voice chat.
