‘Criminal Minds’ Season 12 Spoilers: Reid’s Mother Provides A Huge Break In Her Son’s Case In Episode 20
“Criminal Minds” finally returns to CBS with the last three episodes of Season 12 on Wednesday, April 26 at 9 p.m. The plot will now focus on Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) who is currently in prison for allegedly killing a doctor in Mexico.
In Season 12, episode 19, Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler) visited Reid in jail and urged him to remember the events that led him to being framed for the doctor’s murder. In a surprising twist, the profiler remembered that it was a woman that framed him and not Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman).
What will happen next? “Criminal Minds” showrunner Erica Messer told TVLine that in Season 12, episode 20, Reid’s mother Diana (Jane Lynch) visits her son in prison and indirectly delivers a huge break in his case.
Interestingly, in the same episode, titled “Unforgettable,” series star Joe Mantegna’s daughter Gia reprises her Season 3 role as Lindsey Vaughn. Messer did not reveal any details regarding why she’s back.
