Cristiano Ronaldo is officially on the market after coming to terms with Manchester United for his release and the belief among many soccer fans it that his talents are coming to Al-Nassr of the Saudi Professional League.

Ronaldo himself has spoken out on the rumors of him joining the club, denying such notions at a press conference following their 6-1 win against Switzerland in the Round of 16.

However, Marca journalist and transfer correspondent Jose Felix Diaz recently spoke with soccer outlet Goal and reported that Ronaldo's statement was a contradiction of what has been happening behind the scenes.

"The agreement with the Arab team is total and absolute. Now it is necessary to sign it, to get there, to see what the club is and decide to sign. It is a team that is trying to grow, to recover [their] dominance in Saudi football, which it lately has not had," Diaz said as quoted by Goal.

"The contract is two and a half years. He will be paid for playing and a lot of money for advertising, that's the link you're going to have."

Ronaldo has been a hot topic amongst soccer fans after his unceremonious exit from Manchester United where he blasted manager Erik ten Hag, upper management and some of the players during his interview with Piers Morgan.

Portugal s currently having a solid campaign through the 2022 World Cup after getting out of Group H with the top spot, beating Ghana and Uruguay in two exciting matches.

However, they were one of the upset victims in the group stages after losing 2-1 to South Korea.

Their bounce-back victory against Switzerland to enter the quarterfinals was a massive statement that the team was still in high spirits despite the rumors surrounding Ronaldo's future.

But it should be noted that Ronaldo was left off the squad in their Switzerland match by manager Fernando Santos which has led to rumors of friction within the squad and the all-time soccer great being discontented with the choice, with him threatening to leave the tournament altogether.

The Portuguese Football Federation has since denied such allegations ahead of their extremely crucial matchup against Morocco.

Similar to Portugal, Morocco surprisingly topped Group F despite having the threat of Belgium and is one of the major underdogs in the quarterfinals.

Regardless of what happens to the team during this round, the Ronaldo storyline will continue to make its presence felt until soccer fans have a definitive conclusion as to where he takes his career next.
