Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has publicly addressed the tragic passing of his newborn son this past April, calling it "the most difficult moment" of his and his family's life.

In a snippet of his tell-all interview with British personality Piers Morgan on "Piers Uncensored," the soccer star admitted that it was a hard pill for all of them to swallow.

"It was probably the worst moment that I passed through in my life since my father died. When you have a kid, you expect that everything will be normal and when you have that problem, it's hard," Ronaldo said to Morgan.

"As a human being as I am, me and Georgina, we had quite difficult moments, because we don't understand why it happened to us. It was difficult, to be honest. It was very, very difficult to understand what's going on in that period of our lives."

Ronaldo later explained that his life on the field and the experiences that he has had is just so fast that this tragedy made him stop for a while in a sense and focus on his family first.

Father of six children, the most well-known being 12-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., Ronaldo and his wife Georgina Rodriguez revealed in October 2021 that they were expecting twins this past April.

With four young children expecting to welcome another sibling into their home, the Manchester United star eventually knew that they had to break the news to their children of their youngest brother's passing.

"Gio (Georgina Rodriguez) arrived home and the kids start to say 'where's the other baby, where's the other baby'... And after one week I say let's be upfront and let's be honest with the kids, let's say that, Ángel, which is his name, he go to the Heaven," Ronaldo heartbreakingly told Morgan.

"The kids understand, we had shouts around the table and they say 'Daddy I did this for Ángel' and they point to the sky. Which I like the most because he's part of their lives. I am not gonna lie to my kids, I say the truth, which was a difficult process."

Ronaldo has been a divisive figure in recent days after publicly blasting Manchester United in the same interview, but no sane human being would deny him and his family their grief over a moment that no parent should ever experience.
