Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's newly released Netflix documentary has sparked negative comments from critics, calling the show "boring" because of its underwhelming plotline.

The docuseries starring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the headlines ahead of its release on Thursday, as royal fans and critics have anticipated "bombshell" revelations about the ongoing royal conflict following the couple's exit from the royal family over two years ago.

But according to The Independent, the series only "contained little that the public [was] not already aware of," focusing on the 41-year-old "Suits" alum's claim of experiencing racism within the royal family and the troubled relationship with her father, Thomas Markle. It also revolved around the 38-year-old prince's bout with the "unbearable" press, which has already been well-documented in the past years.

The couple, who decided to relinquish their roles as senior royals in 2020 and relocate to California, where they now reside with their children, 3-year-old Archie and 1-year-old Lilibet, appeared to have already discussed similar topics in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

The outlet noted that "Volume 1," one-third of the three-part docuseries, also seemed to have "threaded over family territory," and did not reveal much of the "full truth" that viewers have been expecting, such as the revelation of the identity of the royal member who "raised concerns" over their then-unborn son's skin color, the truth behind the bullying claims made against Markle by the palace staff, or an update on Prince Harry's relationship with his father, King Charles III, and older brother, Prince William.

Following its premiere, critics, including veteran British broadcaster Piers Morgan, have taken to social media to express their honest and no-filtered comments about the docuseries.

"This is worse than 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians.' Something I didn't think was humanly possible," Morgan wrote on Twitter Thursday. In another tweet, he said, "God, they're so boring!"

Morgan also gave live updates on the social media platform while watching the first three episodes and even slammed the couple for being "disgusting" because of "how they're repeatedly trying to brand Britain a racist country. Most tolerant place in Europe, as all the coverage of their engagement/wedding, showed."

Film critic Kathryn Flett also compared the show to the infamous series, starring Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner, telling GB News that "there's stuff [in the show] that makes the Kardashians look shy and retiring. It's just relentless!"

Royal biographer Angela Levin sarcastically accused Prince Harry and Markle of breaching "their own privacy," given that one of the couple's concerns about being in the royal family was the lack of privacy and being followed by the British press.

Meanwhile, GB News presenter Dan Wooton called out the couple for being hypocrites saying in a tweet, "For a couple who claim they care about their privacy, in less than half an hour Harry and Meghan have already shared with the world 'private' text message exchanges, 'private' photos from their dates, 'private' video diaries and 'private' clips of their son."

"Harry and Meghan" is currently streaming on Netflix. The last three episodes of the docuseries will premiere on Dec. 15.
