‘Crossword Mysteries: Puzzle To Die For’ Hallmark Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
“All of My Heart” franchise and “A Christmas Melody” co-stars Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott are back together again for a brand-new Hallmark movie. This time around, the two are heading up Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ new franchise, “Crossword Mysteries.”
Directed by Don McCutcheon, the first installment, “Crossword Mysteries: A Puzzle to Die For,” premieres on Sunday. The movie series was co-created by Will Shortz, New York Times puzzle editor and creator. He’s also the puzzle master for NPR’s “Weekend Edition.”
As for what the Hallmark movie will be about: According to the synopsis, “New York Sentinel Crosswords editor Tess Harper (Chabert) becomes involved in a murder mystery following the death of a prominent gallery owner when she discovers that art heists are being foreshadowed by clues in one of her newspaper’s weekly puzzles.
“Reluctant to accept her help at first, Lt. Logan O’Connor (Elliott) eventually lets her in on the investigation, and together they work to find the killer, who has already stricken a second time.”
The cast also includes John Kapelos (Chief Chauncey O Connor), Barbara Niven (Aunt Candace, “Chesapeake Shores”), Victor A. Young (Pierre), Genevieve Kang (Josephine,) Zach Smadu (Harris), Kelly Penner (Alexander), Anna Hardwick (Elizabeth) and Jonathan Langdon (Carmichael).
