Crown Princess Mary Of Denmark Draws Style Inspiration From Kate Middleton, Wears Blue Issa Dress
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark drew some style inspiration from Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge when she stepped out for World Cancer Day in Copenhagen Friday. She wore a blue Issa dress that was very similar to the one Kate wore for her engagement back in 2010. The British royal wore a royal blue Issa wrap dress for her engagement announcement to Prince William in 2010.
Princess Mary wore the dress while presenting the annual Cancer Society Award to nurse Majken Hjerming at a ceremony in the Royal Danish Playhouse. The latter had been nominated for the award after she helped establish a common room in her hospital for young cancer patients aged 15-29. The Danish royal’s dress ran up to her knee.
From designer Daniella Helayel, who launched her line Issa in 2003, the "Phylis" Issa wrap dress featured a V cross front neckline and long sleeves. The belted waist detailing showed off the 44-year-old royal’s slim waist. It consisted of a form-fitting top and a flared skirt. The dress retails for 575 pounds ($828).
The mother-of-four paired the figure flattering dress with matching navy pointed toe pumps. The Tasmanian born princess accessorized with blue drop earrings, rings and a royal blue clutch. To keep herself warm, Mary wore her favorite gray Joseph Double Cashmere Oslo Coat that she kept over her shoulder.
Mary’s brunette tresses were styled in a messy low bun and kept side parted. Her make-up consisted of pink cheeks, matching lipgloss, eyeliner and mascara. She also showed off her deep red manicured hands.
Meanwhile, Kate opted for a classic look for her engagement announcement. She kept her look toned down in black court shoes. The duchess accessorized with a delicate necklace, earrings and her blue sapphire and diamond engagement ring. Her long and glossy brunette tresses were styled into her favorite blowout.
