Crown Princess Mary Of Denmark Looks Stunning In YDE Gown, Gold Headpiece At Swedish Royal Banquet
Crown Princess Mary of Denmark looked stunning in a white and yellow gown by Copenhagen-based designer YDE at a lavish banquet hosted by King Carl XVI Gustaf and his wife Queen Silvia at the Royal Palace of Sweden on Saturday. It was the occasion of the Swedish monarch’s 70th birthday celebrations. At the gala dinner, the 44-year-old opted to skip the tiara and instead wore a striking floral headpiece.
The Swedish royal family spent this past weekend celebrating Carl Gustaf’s milestone 70th birthday. Mary looked spring ready in a white and yellow floral gown by Danish label YDE. Her demure gown featured cap sleeves, high neckline, fitted bodice and a slightly slowing skirt.
The gown also had a peplum-style frill detailing near the waist. The dress showed off her tall and slender frame and her toned arms. In spite of the freezing temperature outside, the Danish royal opted to go without a coat or a shawl for the gala dinner.
The Tasmanian-born beauty paired her look with a gold clutch bag by Saint Laurent and wore yellow pointed-toe Gianvito Rossi heels. The mother-of-four’s festive look also consisted of a brooch of honor, a delicate bracelet, and her accessories included Charlotte Lynggaard jewels, including rings, drop earrings and a striking floral headpiece. The gold headpiece consisted of embellished crystals gold gems, and the leaf-like design added a casual twist to her ensemble.
Mary ensured all eyes were on her at the royal banquet with her unique style statement. Her make-up consisted of pink blush, a slick of pink lipgloss and smoky eyes including back eyeliner and mascara. Her long brunette locks were left loose over her shoulders kept in a side part and styled in simple classic waves.
The princess attended Carl Gustaf’s birthday lunch at City Hall in Stockholm. Walking alongside her husband Crown Prince Frederik, she looked stunning in an understated look — a recycled beige trench coat. She teamed up her look with nude Christian Louboutin heels. To add a pop of color to her daytime ensemble, Mary wore a purple pillbox hat, matching gloves and carried a purple clutch bag.
Mary’s hair was pulled back into a bun inside the hat. She accessorized with a pair of small stud earrings and a jeweled brooch. Mary wore the same coat when she welcomed Queen Maxima of the Netherlands to Denmark in March 2015.
