Crown Princess Victoria Of Sweden Gives Birth To Baby Boy
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden gave birth to a baby boy at the Karolinska Hospital in Solna, Stockholm Wednesday. The Royal Palace of Sweden via its official website confirmed that the mother and child are doing well.
The proud dad Prince Daniel announced the birth of his son to reporters waiting outside. He could not hold back his emotions as he announced the arrival of their baby prince.
As tears rolled down the cheeks of the 42-year-old former personal trainer told the press that the couple had kept the baby’s gender a surprise and that he was delighted to welcome a little prince. He added that he cut the umbilical cord and assisted during the birth. “They are doing great and have been really well-cared for,” Daniel told reporters.
Victoria and Daniel have a four-year old daughter, named Princess Estelle. He said that he did not have time to feel how it feels to be a father of two, adding that the birth of his newborn son felt good. Meanwhile, the name of the baby prince, who is third in line to the Swedish throne, will be revealed Thursday.
In addition, congratulatory lists will be available at the Royal Palace to mark the new birth. Members of the public and the diplomatic corps will be able to leave their written messages of congratulations to The Crown Princess Couple in the list.
The royal family said in a statement that Estelle will receive the happy news of the birth of her baby brother in the morning as the little princess was asleep when he was born. Meanwhile, The Swedish royal family is also waiting for the birth of the first child of Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia.
The 30-year-old princess is expected to give birth in April.
