Cruz And Trump Are Top Picks For Iowa: Poll
A new Fox News poll released Friday evening found Texas Sen. Ted Cruz slightly ahead of businessman Donald Trump in the race to the Republican presidential nomination. Cruz held 27 percent support while Trump had 23, followed by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio with 15 percent. The poll of Iowa Republican caucus-goers comes less than a month before Iowa’s Republican caucuses.
The poll indicated that retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson held 9 percent of support, followed by Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 7 percent, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul at 5 percent and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 4 percent.
The poll was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research and Shaw & Company Research from Jan. 4-7, 2016, among a random sample of 504 Iowa Republican caucus-goers selected from a statewide voter file. The margin of sampling error was plus or minus 4 percentage points.
