  • Crytek is teasing the arrival of "Crysis Remastered"
  • The hints came from a series of Tweets and a Cookie Policy page on its official website
  • "Crysis Remastered" is set to be available on the PC, PlayStation, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch

“Crysis” is one of those games that likes to tease fans with its absence and announce and impending comeback with a simple one-liner. And for what it's worth, those who are eagerly anticipating a Remastered version of Crytek's first-person shooter immediately took the bait.

The game's Twitter account suddenly came alive Monday with the simplest of Tweets: “RECEIVING DATA.” Since then, the post was retweeted more than 16,000 times. This only goes to show that gamers are thirsty for anything “Crysis” related, let alone a peep that could give them a hint of good things to come.

By Wednesday, “Crysis” tweeted again and this time, asking “Nomad” if he is “still with us.” For those that don't know, “Nomad” is Jake Dunn and the main protagonist of the first title. Of course, players answered and shared the post for the world to see.

Then came some sort of revelation. According to IGN, “Crysis'” Cookie Policy page showed the game's Remastered logo. Anyone who visited the website and clicked on the logo was redirected to a new website and was welcomed with a stunning artwork.

But it didn't take long for Crytek to bring down the page along with the teaser. Kotaku said that the page now displays a 404 error. Fortunately, lashman, aka @RobotBush took a screenshot and added what seems to be legit confirmation that a Remastered version is well on its way.

“Crysis Remastered brings new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE's native hardware – and API-agnostic ray tracing solution for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and – for the very first time – Nintendo Switch,” tweeted @RobotBush.

If all of these hints point to the same direction, it's safe to say that the gaming community will soon have a new pleasure of a game to spend during their lockdown orders. Crytek has yet to officially announce the Remastered version of “Crysis,” with it possible release date still an enigma.

“Coming soon” can be a broad term, especially for a gamer. But for some reason, gamers might want to check on their PC if it can run “Crysis” just to make sure their rigs can sustain the game should it come out of the blue.
