Calling the latest “Cyberpunk 2077” patch big would be an understatement. Not only did CD Projekt Red include the next-gen version of the game in this update, but they also added many of the things players have been asking for since launch.
There are plenty of changes to sift through in the 1.5 update, and players have a lot to look forward to the next time they boot up the game. Here are some of the most important changes and additions to keep an eye on.
Next-Gen Features
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles can now play the next-gen version of the game that features advanced graphics settings and improved performance. Console players can also switch between Performance and Ray Tracing modes for a little bit more flexibility in terms of which graphics settings they want to use.
Combat and AI Improvements
CDPR added two new guns (a Power AR and Power SMG), four weapon scopes and a handful of muzzle breaks for pistols, assault rifles and submachine guns. These can be purchased from the 2nd Amendment in Megabuilding H10 or as random loot around Night City.
Additionally, combat, in general, should now feel more impactful, thanks to improved hit reactions, death animations and dismemberment triggers.
The behavior of AI enemies was also improved. Expect them to react more realistically in a firefight. More enemies should now take cover more frequently, and individual combatants now have different levels of aggression when fighting.
Lastly, bystanders now have better pathfinding and improved reactions to the players’ actions. This includes the AI for NPC drivers, who now react to danger and other traffic-related issues.
Driving Model
There’s a lot to unpack when it comes to the driving system improvements, but the general gist of things is that players can expect driving to feel better overall. CDPR also introduced additional systems that can let players do driving tricks like drifting, donuts, Rockfords, J-Turns and more.
New Apartments
Four new apartments in the following areas can now be rented by players:
- Northside
- Japantown
- The Glen
- Corpo Plaza
All apartments can be rented simultaneously, and they can act as safe houses for players. Several interactable items are also found in each apartment that can give random buffs or stat boosts.
Lastly, the game received various graphical and performance-related improvements and a host of quality-of-life changes players may be interested in.
