'Cyberpunk 2077' Guide: Blunt Bruiser Build
KEY POINTS
- Blunt weapons are non-lethal and can stun enemies
- Invest points in the Body and Technical Ability attributes
- Use perks that increase damage resistance, health regeneration and melee damage
In a city filled with guns and cybernetic augments, one would be crazy to pick a baseball bat as their weapon of choice. Fortunately, the world of "Cyberpunk 2077" doesn't abide by the rules of reality, so even a guy with a big stick can be just as devastating as everyone else.
Knives and swords are built for players who want to slice through the competition. Meanwhile, blunt weapons like bats, wrenches, crowbars and tire irons are better for those who don't necessarily want to kill everyone they meet. These weapons can also stun enemies, and they simply feel more satisfying to use, albeit subjectively.
Melee Body Build
For skills, players will want to put their points into Body as their main stat and Technical Ability as their secondary stat. The former gives more HP, stamina and melee weapon damage while the other increases armor rating and V's proficiency with Tech weapons.
Take the following skills to improve melee weapon DPS and survivability:
- Rush (Street Brawler) – grants HP regeneration after landing a melee hit
- Dazed (Street Brawler) – melee hits have a chance to stun
- Flurry/Crushing Blows (Street Brawler) – increased combo/heavy attack damage
- Juggernaut (Street Brawler) – gain armor when blocking
- Steel and Chrome (Athletics) – more melee damage
- Tenacious V (Athletics) – taking hits does not interrupt HP regeneration
- Indestructible – gain damage resistance
Feel free to spend any free points in other perks that increase stamina regeneration or gun damage in the Annihilation tree. Also, consider unlocking some perks in the Technical Ability family for bonuses to crafting and explosive damage.
Recommended Weapons
Any blunt melee weapon with high physical damage will work with this build. This includes the Gorilla Arms augment, which can be bought from Ripperdocs after enough progress in the game has been made.
Players may want to consider grabbing the Gold-Plated Baseball Bat, an iconic weapon that can be obtained during the Second Conflict quest. Go to Denny's Villa while the quest is active and visit the pool area after Denny and Henry argue with each other. The baseball bat should be by the pool.
Lastly, opt for the Berserk Operating System for on-demand combat buffs.
