‘Cyberpunk 2077’: How To Play Game In Third Person Using Excellent New Mod

CD Projekt Red’s “Cyberpunk 2077” offers players a lot of gameplay features that are both interesting and hilarious at times, thanks to the glitches that exist in the game. One thing it lacks, however, is a third-person perspective that allows players to see V while he or she moves along the game’s world. Thankfully, a new mod compensates for that.

A modder named Jelle Bakker uploaded a new mod to Nexus Mods, IGN reported. This mod lets gamers play “Cyberpunk 2077” in the third person.

Originally, the game only lets players enjoy a third-person perspective when they are riding a vehicle and driving through the game’s world. When they get out of the car or leave the motorcycle, the perspective automatically reverts back to the first-person view, letting players see nothing but V’s hands, weapon and the game’s world, including NPCs and more.

By installing the mod, players will be able to see V from head to toe as he or she runs, walks, crouches, jumps and so on. The mod provides different camera angles, including one that looks at V from the front, so that players will see the game world differently.

Interestingly, the modder took all the game’s graphical glitches into consideration and incorporated glitchy designs into V’s third-person perspective look as well. And the results are hilarious.

V sometimes loses his or her head, and their head gets stuck near the weapon at times. Sometimes V’s clothes get separated from his or her main body, V's body is wiggly when moving and so on.

Generally, V looks oddly funny – and that’s in line with the game’s actual graphics, at least for now.

That said, here’s how to install the mod so that gamers can play “Cyberpunk 2077” in the third person:

• First, players will need to know that the mod will only work on the game’s PC version. Those who play the game on a PlayStation or Xbox console won’t be able to enjoy it.
• Second, PC players should head to Nexus Mods and download the “Cyber Engine Tweak” mod. This mod is used for a variety of purposes, but for this trick, it will be used alongside the mod Bakker uploaded. Players should download and extract it, then install it in the game’s “bin” folder located at: C: > Program Files (x86) > Stream > streamapps > common > Cyberpunk 2077 > bin > x64.
• Third, users will need to download the actual mod called the “JB – TPP MOD WIP THIRD PERSON” mod. Players will have the option to download perspectives for male and female versions.
• Fourth, once downloaded, players will need to navigate to the “mods” folder and extract it into the “Cyber Engine Tweaks” folder on their computer.

When players launch the game, they should press “B” on their keyboards to switch to the third-person view and choose from a variety of camera angles.
