While waiting on the platform to board a high-speed train in France, several passengers were shocked to see a dead body stuck to the front of the locomotive.

According to the New York Daily News, the 48-year-old cyclist remains unnamed. He was reportedly hit by the TGV train on a level crossing in Petit-Croix, near Belfort, on March 16, the Daily News adds. But his body wasn’t noticed on the front of the train until it came to a stop almost 25 miles later at a station in Mulhouse.

"The body was found, stuck to the front right of the train, out of the driver's vision," said a spokesman for national rail firm SNCF in an interview with The Local. It hasn’t been determined if the death was a suicide or accidental. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
