Daisy Ridley Net Worth: How Much Does The ‘Star Wars’ Actress Make?
As one of the breakout stars of the new “Star Wars” trilogy, beginning with “The Force Awakens” in 2015 and now its sequel “The Last Jedi,” Daisy Ridley is really making a name for herself and is getting the paycheck that comes with it.
The 25-year-old actress, who plays Rey in the series, reportedly has a net worth of $2 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. For someone who only really started acting professionally four years ago, in 2013, that’s quite a bit.
Before rising to fame in 2015 with her first “Star Wars” film, London-born Ridley attended the Tring Park School for Performing Arts in England after winning a scholarship. Once she finished up there, she started university before dropping out to pursue acting full-time. She had a couple years of small-scale TV shows and movies before landing her breakout role. She did a few movie shorts, including “Lifesaver,” “Blue Season” and “Wiley: Lights On,” all in 2013, which helped her gain experience and get her name out there.
In 2014, the actress landed a two-episode stint on a show called “Silent Witness,” which follows the lives of forensic pathologists and scientists. She followed that up with an episode of Jeremy Piven’s “Mr. Selfridge” later that year.
It was in 2015 when everything really changed for her, though, as that’s when she hit the big screen in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the first movie in the franchise’s new trilogy. The series began in 1977 and had already had six movies to its name, giving it, and her, a large built-in fanbase for when her film debuted.
Since she had only ever had small roles prior to this big screen film, Ridley’s salary was in the low six-figures, between $100,000 and $300,000, according to Variety. Her co-star, John Boyega, who plays Finn in the franchise, made around the same.
Still, her net worth is at $2 million because of her past acting jobs and the “Star Wars” movies she’s been in and will be in, as well as her role in this year’s “Murder on the Orient Express.” Plus, as her star power rises and the new roles come in, her salary will increase and she’ll start to be able to name her own price.
Her overall monetary value will increase quite a bit come 2018 and 2019, as she’s already signed on for multiple projects, aside from Episode IX of the space franchise. At the start of the new year, she’ll star in “Ophelia,” a reimagining of Hamlet, and she’ll also voice a lead character in the animated flick “Peter Rabbit.” Ridley will then star with Tom Holland in the 2019 film “Chaos Walking,” which is set in a dystopian world.
With many projects on the horizon and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” in theaters Friday, Ridley’s net worth is only going up from here.
