Dak Prescott Contract: Dallas Cowboys Expected To Give Quarterback Historic Deal In 2020
There have been plenty of rumors regarding contract negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott. The team used the franchise tag to prevent Prescott from hitting free agency, but the quarterback reportedly wants to sign a long-term deal that will make him the highest-paid player in league history.
The two sides have until July 15 to reach a multi-year contract. Otherwise, Prescott will earn $31.4 million in the 2020 NFL season before heading toward 2021 free agency.
Anything can happen over the next several weeks, but Prescott is expected to agree to a record-setting contract.
Russell Wilson is the NFL’s highest-paid player with an average yearly salary of $35 million. The latest betting odds suggest that Prescott will surpass that number.

According to Clarence Hill Jr. of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas has offered Prescott a yearly salary between $34 and $35 million. The offer includes $110 million guaranteed.

Goff and Aaron Rodgers are tied for third with $33.5 million average yearly salaries.
Prescott has a 40-24 record since Dallas drafted him in 2016. He finished second among all quarterbacks last year with 4,902 passing yards. The Cowboys had the NFL’s No.1 ranked offense.
The Cowboys have maintained that signing Prescott to a long-term contract is their No.1 priority. Since September, Dallas has given both Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper record-setting contracts.
