It’s looking more and more like the Dallas Cowboys will be without one of their regular starters on Wild-Card Weekend. There’s a good chance offensive lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo won’t play at home against the Seattle Seahawks in Saturday night’s playoff game.

Su'a-Filo missed his third straight practice Thursday because of an ankle sprain. If the left guard can’t suit up, Connor Williams will take his place.

While offensive linemen like Zack Martin and Tyron Smith rested in Dallas’ meaningless season finale against the New York Giants, Su'a-Filo played for most of the game. Su'a-Filo suffered the injury in the second half of the Cowboys’ 36-35 victory.

Williams was the starting left guard for the first half of the season until he was forced to underdog knee surgery. The offense performed better when Su'a-Filo took over, and his introduction to the starting lineup coincided with Dallas recording seven wins in eight games.

Ezekiel Elliott was the NFL’s leading rusher in the 2018 season in large part because of how he performed in the second half of the year. The running back averaged 107.7 rushing yards per game from Week 10-16. Elliott didn’t play in Week 17.

Elliott ran for 127 yards when the Cowboys lost to the Seahawks 24-13 in Week 3. Dak Prescott was held to 168 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Williams got the start at left guard in that contest.

The Cowboys ended the season ranked 22nd in total offense. The Seahawks were 16th in total defense.
