Dallas Cowboys News: Pro Bowl Player Could Return In Potential Playoff Clincher With Buccaneers
The Dallas Cowboys have an important upcoming matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16. The team can punch their ticket to the playoffs with a victory, and there is hope that one of their Pro Bowlers will be back on the field.
Starting right tackle Zack Martin missed the first game of his career in Dallas’ Week 15 loss against the Indianapolis Colts. The veteran returned to the practice field Thursday, and owner Jerry Jones called him a game-time decision for Sunday.
Martin has been selected to the Pro Bowl in every season since the Cowboys made him a first-round pick in 2014. Starting left tackle Tyron Smith was just named to his sixth straight Pro Bowl, and he’s expected to play Sunday. Smith has been battling injuries after missing Week 12 and Week 13.
Starting left guard Xavier Su’a-Filo was a full participant in practice Thursday after being limited Wednesday.
With a banged-up offensive line in Week 15, the Cowboys had their five-game winning streak snapped. Dallas was shut out in Indianapolis as Dak Prescott was sacked three times and limited to 206 passing yards on 39 attempts.
Ezekiel Elliott ran the ball 18 times for 87 yards against the Colts. He’s still the NFL’s leading rusher by a wide margin.
Dallas is on the verge of making the postseason and winning the NFC East. They can clinch the division title with one victory in their final two games. A loss by both the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins would also get the Cowboys into the playoffs.
