The NFC East race is a little bit tighter after Week 4 of the 2019 NFL season. The Dallas Cowboys are no longer undefeated, cutting their first-place lead to a game over the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.

Dallas’ record dropped to 3-1 when they were defeated by the New Orleans Saints Sunday night. The New York Giants won their second straight game, defeating the still-winless Washington Redskins and moving to 2-2. The Philadelphia Eagles moved back to .500 Thursday night when they defeated the Green Bay Packers on the road.

The Cowboys remain in command of the NFC East. Dallas is a -135 odds-on favorite to win the division at FanDuel Sportsbook. Philadelphia is a contender with +130 betting odds. New York is a long shot at +1000. Washington is no threat with +10000 odds.

Wins over the Giants and Redskins to start the season gave the Cowboys a 2-0 division record. Dallas’ soft part of the schedule is over with an upcoming game against the Packers in Week 5 after visiting the Saints. The Cowboys and Eagles will meet for the first time in Week 7.

Dallas scored just 10 points in New Orleans after scoring more than 30 points in each of their first three games. Ezekiel Elliott was held to 35 rushing yards on 18 attempts.

Philadelphia will host the New York Jets in Week 5 before going on the road for three difficult games. The Eagles are 1-0 in the division, having beaten the Redskins in the season opener.

Daniel Jones has given the Giants some life after it looked like the team would be one of the worst in the NFL with Eli Manning under center. The rookie quarterback is undefeated in two starts, despite throwing two interceptions in a 24-3 win over the Redskins. New York’s defense didn’t allow a touchdown after giving up more points through three weeks than any team besides the Miami Dolphins.

Washington’s rookie quarterback wasn’t as successful in his debut. Dwayne Haskins was picked off three times on just 17 pass attempts. He relieved Case Keenum, who failed to connect on a few potential touchdown opportunities.

There’s speculation that Jay Gruden could soon be out as the Redskins’ head coach. Washington is the only 0-4 team in the NFC.
