The Dallas Cowboys will win the NFC East if they beat the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles lose to the New York Giants in Week 17 of the 2019 NFL season. What are the chances that scenario plays out?

The oddsmakers suggest that Dallas has somewhere between 2/1 and 3/1 odds to make the playoffs. The Cowboys can only reach the postseason with a first-place finish in the division.

FanDuel Sportsbook gives Dallas +235 odds to win the NFC East. Philadelphia is a -300 betting favorite. The Cowboys have +225 division odds at DraftKings Sportsbook, where the Eagles are -286 favorites.

Both NFC East contenders are significant favorites in their respective season finales.

According to OddsShark, Dallas is laying 10.5 points at home against Washington. The Cowboys are as high as -550 moneyline favorites.

Philadelphia a 4.5-point road favorite against New York. The Eagles have -215 odds to win outright. The Giants have +185 odds to pull off the upset.

A moneyline parlay with Dallas and New York would pay approximately +237.

The Cowboys didn’t have any trouble with the Redskins when the rivals met in Week 2. Dallas won 31-21 in Washington as Dak Prescott threw three touchdown passes and Ezekiel Elliott ran for 111 yards.

The Eagles needed overtime to beat the Giants 23-17 at home in Week 14 when Eli Manning was under center. Daniel Jones has returned from an ankle injury and will start for the Giants following the best performance of his young career.

This is the second straight year in which Philadelphia can earn a playoff spot with a Week 17 win. In the 2018 season finale, the Eagles shut out the Redskins 24-0 to clinch the NFC’s second wild-card berth. Philadelphia jumped ahead of the Minnesota Vikings, who suffered a loss and were knocked out of the playoff picture.

A victory would give the Cowboys an 8-8 record. Dallas has never finished below .500 since drafting Prescott and Elliott in 2016. Jason Garrett only has one losing season since being hired as the Cowboys’ head coach in January 2011.

Dallas entered the season with +110 odds to make the playoffs.
