From winning an Academy Award to being appointed as a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, the legendary actress has achieved everything that many people can only dream of.
But one thing that she could never do in her younger days was to land on the cover of a leading magazine. Fortunately, her dream has finally come true at the age of 85.
The Oscar-winning actress has just become the oldest star ever to grace the cover of British Vogue. Dench will be seen on the cover of the magazine’s June issue.
The media outlet shared a video on YouTube in which the “Shakespeare In Love” star can be seen answering some of the questions about her professional and personal life. The questions were asked by celebrities like Ian McKellen, Reese Witherspoon, Daniel Craig, Stormzy, Naomi Scott, and many more.
In the video, Dench revealed that she never wanted to be an actress. She said she actually wanted to be a theater designer. The esteemed star further stated that she never regretted joining the industry.
“I wanted to be a theater designer. But my brother, Jeffery, ... only wanted to be an actor. And I kind of caught it from him. And I thought, ‘oh I would like to go with that,’ and I did. I have never regretted it and I have been incredibly lucky,” Dench said.
Dench concluded the video by saying that she had a very good time while shooting for Vogue and she will “boast” about it for the rest of her life.
“I am going to boast about it for the rest of my life. I had the most glorious day doing it,” Dench said.
Meanwhile, Dench will be next seen in Kenneth Branagh’s “Artemis Fowl.” The movie also stars Colin Farrell, Josh Gad, Miranda Raison, Adrian Scarborough, and Hong Chau in pivotal roles.
The movie is set to release in June 2020.
