‘Dance Moms’ Season 7 Sees Return Of Abby’s Minis After Being Let Go By Producers [PHOTOS]
Abby Lee Miller’s mini team may not be gone for good. Despite confirming her young students’ departure from the show recently, two “Dance Moms” stars made a comeback during filming for Season 7 over the weekend.
Mini team members Elliana Walmsley and Lilliana Ketchman competed as part of the ALDC at Dream National Dance Competition in Placenta, California, on Saturday. After Elliana, 9, posted a photo of her and Lilliana, 8, taking a flexibility class at ALDC last week, the “Dance Moms” star followed up with pictures of her and her teammate sporting ALDC jackets enroute to the competition.
“It’s been a loooong day. I just know the sun will shine for us tomorrow,” Elliana captioned the picture.
The following day, Elliana shared a shot of her and Lilliana wearing matching costumes and thanking Abby for having faith in them in the caption. “It’s been a long time coming… love, love, love doing a duet today with my bestie,” she wrote. “Thank you so much [Abby] for believing we could do it.” Lilliana shared a similar photo, writing she was “so happy to be back at it” and sharing the stage with Elliana.
Elliana also competed with the elite junior team and shared photos from her experiences with the older girls. “Now THIS is teamwork!” she captioned a shot of Kendall Vertes doing her hair. Another photo of her in full costume gave credit to Brynn Rumfallo for helped with her hairstyle. “Loved my transformation into a Sprite for competition day,” the mini wrote.
According to one “Dance Moms” spoiler site, Elliana’s performance with the elites was a hit. The original team’s open group dance, “The Fairest of Them All,” took home first-place in the teen division. Elliana and Lilliana’s duet was also success with attendees reporting their jazz number placed first in the mini category.
As previously reported, Abby confirmed that her newly formed mini group was sent home by “Dance Moms” producers last month. She wrote on Instagram that she was “sick” over the change. While it’s still unclear what caused the casting shakeup, it was also revealed that the ALDC’s longtime rivals, Cathy Nesbitt Stein’s Candle Apples, are making a comeback.
“Dance Moms” is currently in its sixth season. The next episode, “Mini Mayhem,” airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime. Coincidentally, the episode focuses on the now-disbanded mini group.
