‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2012 Elimination: Gavin DeGraw Takes Final Bow
Gavin DeGraw knows how to write a hit song, but his dancing skills just didn't cut the mustard on this season of Dancing With the Stars.
The I Don't Want To Be and Sweeter singer was eliminated from the show on Tuesday night after a lackluster samba during Latin Week.
Are you suffering from tropical fever? judge Bruno Tonioli asked the singer, adding that he still enjoyed DeGraw's performance. You just let yourself go hoping for the best. And I actually enjoyed it.
DeGraw and his partner, Karina Smirnoff, were asked to perform in a quick dance-off Tuesday night alongside the other couple in the bottom two: actor Jaleel White and his partner Kym Johnson. The judges then decided who would go home, giving DeGraw the boot in favor of the more energetic White.
DeGraw, who is currently on tour, took his elimination like a gentleman. He praised Smirnoff and expressed his gratitude for the DWTS experience. He also tweeted the following: To my friends at DWTS. Love you guys and I had the BEST time!!!! Go get em! Free tickets for you ALL to my shows this summer! Love Gavin.
Smirnoff wrote about Latin Week for People magazine, promising fans that DeGraw would be wearing a little less clothing in this dance than normal, although he wouldn't be losing his hat. But fans who were hoping to see more of his skin would be disappointed.
It was an amazing journey with @GavinDegraw this season, Smirnoff tweeted after the elimination. Thank u so much for believing in us and supporting us! We love u and cherish u!
Former contestant and The View co-host Sherri Shepherd, who was eliminated last week, tweeted her support to the newly ousted singer: Goodnight my sweet @GavinDeGraw ... your humour & lazy swagger & that gorgeous smile brought much to #DWTS - you will truly be missed xoxo.
