‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2015 Spoilers: ‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules Upcoming Wedding To Whitney Will Benefit From 'DWTS'
Could Prince Farming be the next Mirror Ball champion? On Tuesday morning, “Bachelor” star Chris Soules revealed that he is the 12th and final celebrity competing in Season 20 of ABC's “Dancing With the Stars," which begins Monday night.
"It’s the worst kept secret ever," he joked about the not-so-surprising casting news on “Good Morning America.” Fans speculated that the bachelor would be trading roses for dancing shoes after Tom Bergeron, host of the dancing series, made a suspicious flub at the initial unveiling of the 2015 contestants.
“[Witney Carson’s] partner couldn’t rose -- I mean rise so early to be here,” Bergeron teased, suggesting that the person pairing up with last year's champion had a thing for flowers.
Soules confirmed his involvement in the 10-year anniversary installment of “DWTS” after the season finale of “The Bachelor” aired Monday night. During the episode, the Iowa farmer proposed to Chicago fertility nurse Whitney Bischoff. So how will Chris’ new dancing gig affect the couple’s budding relationship?
Well, during a press call, Chris’ fiancée revealed that their goal is to “[focus] on being a normal couple” -- and the first step to achieving that normality is through “DWTS.” Whitney explained that she and Chris will move to Los Angeles during his time on the show so that she can “be there every week to cheer him on.”
And it looks like Chris will need as much motivation and support as he can get considering he’s a bit behind in the dancing department. He admitted that, because of his “Bachelor” obligations, he has had to work extra hard “to get caught up with all the other contestants,” who have been perfecting their routines for weeks.
The “Bachelor” star admitted to being nervous about busting a move on the ballroom floor. "As you’ve all watched, I’m pretty good at making a fool of myself," he said on morning talk show "Live With Kelly and Michael." "Dancing -- that’s going to be hard.”
But the optimistic farmer did find a silver lining to joining the star-studded competition. “I’m learning how to dance and that might come in handy if there is a wedding around the corner -- I might need to dance at it,” he teased of his engagement to Whitney.
Season 20 of “Dancing With the Stars” will premiere Monday, March 16, at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
