‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2015 Spoilers: Bindi Irwin Talks What’s Next For Her And Derek Hough On Season 21
Bindi Irwin had fans going wild during the premiere episode of “Dancing With the Stars” with her jive routine to Elton John’s “Crocodile Rock.” But despite her confidence on the ballroom floor, the Season 21 contestant divulged that she was pretty terrified to showcase her shimmying skills during her “DWTS” debut.
“I don’t know about fearless,” Derek Hough’s 17-year-old partner said after a reporter from E! Online questioned if Bindi was unafraid to perform. “I was terrified. When I walked out there I was so scared.”
The five-time Mirror Ball champion then interjected, saying that “you have to have fear to have courage. And this girl is super courageous.”
Regardless of her fears, Bindi and Derek were dubbed “the best performance of the night” by judge Julianne Hough.
“You really are the wonder from Down Under,” Bruno Tonioli added before the judges revealed their scores. The duo earned one of the highest results of the night, receiving a 24 out of 30 for their foot-tapping routine.
So how could the animal activist and Derek possibly top their premiere performance? Well, the daughter of the late Steve Irwin dished that she has a scaly idea for their upcoming routine.
“We have to get you tackling crocs next,” Bindi said to Derek with a smile.
“Speaking of fearless… ah!” the Emmy-winning choreographer let out a yelp.
This isn’t the first time Derek has confessed his fear of reptiles. While filming the opening performance for Season 21 of “DWTS” out on the streets of Hollywood, Derek took a break from shaking it to film a short Instagram video of the Aussie sweetheart and her slithering friend.
“This is an Albino Burmese Python and her name is Sunny," Bindi said as a snake was draped around her à la Britney Spear’s “I’m A Slave 4 U” 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performance. "And she’s very good! She loves to dance even though she doesn’t have any ears and can’t hear. She’s very cute."
While Bindi giggled with her large, yellow pal, fans heard Derek say “that’s terrifying” in the background. Hopefully Derek can take a tip from his courageous partner and face his reptilian fears!
Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough will take the ballroom floor once again when “Dancing With the Stars” returns Monday, Sept. 21 with episode 2.
