‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2015 Theories: Will Alexa PenaVega Return? Season 21 Contestant Rumored To Come Back After Tamar Braxton Withdraws
Is Alexa PenaVega returning to “Dancing With the Stars”? The “Spy Kids” star and her Season 21 partner Mark Ballas are rumored to reprise their roles on the ballroom floor after it was revealed that Tamar Braxton had withdrawn herself from the ABC series. (Tamar’s forfeit currently leaves a spot open in the 2015 installment.)
“The producers are looking at all possibilities right now,” a source told People magazine. “There is a possibility that Alexa could be reinstated.”
On Tuesday, Tamar confirmed via Instagram that she was dropping out of the competition due to health complications.
“With a heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #DWTS has come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem,” she captioned a photo of herself getting comforted by her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, while in the hospital. “After yesterday’s final #DWTS performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn’t want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don’t have pneumonia but something way more serious.”
Tamar revealed the startling news to her fans that she was diagnosed with blood clots in her lungs.
During Week 9 of the long-running competition, it was announced to viewers that Tamar had been rushed to the hospital -- just hours before the live show kicked off -- due to what was thought to be pneumonia and exhaustion. As a result of her absence, the judges were then forced to critique the lackluster dress rehearsal footage of Tamar and Val’s contemporary routine. However, Tamar miraculously made her way back to the ballroom to perform her group number, which earned high praises from Carrie Anna Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli.
Tamar’s return for the team dance is what ultimately saved her from getting the ballroom boot. The show’s host, Tom Bergeron, revealed that if she singer had missed the group routine, then she would have been the one going home. However, it was ultimately Alexa and Mark who were eliminated during the Monday night installment.
Do you think Tamar’s forfeit will result in the return of Alexa? Or could the withdraw mean that none of the remaining competitors will be eliminated from Week 10 of “Dancing With the Stars”? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts and don’t forget to tune in to the Season 21 competition on Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
