‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2016 Spoilers: ‘Fuller House’ Star Jodie Sweetin Joins Season 22 Cast, Reveals Partner
The ballroom floor just got a little fuller.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed during a segment on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that “Fuller House” star Jodie Sweetin will be joining the Season 22 cast of “Dancing With the Stars.”
“I’m glad I can say something because I’ve been keeping it bottled up!” the actress, who portrays Stephanie Tanner in the sitcom series, divulged. It was previously teased in February that the “Full House” alum would be hitting the dance floor.
“I’ve always loved to dance and Stephanie was a dancer on the show,” Sweetin dished. “I don’t call myself a professional but I have experience and rhythm.”
That she does! Fans can check out just how sweet Sweetin’s moves really are in Season 1 of “Fuller House,” which is currently streaming to Netflix. During one episode, Stephanie and her big sister DJ (Candace Cameron Bure) make their way to a club for a girls night out only to be greeted by “DWTS” pros Maksim and Val Chmerkovskiy.
Bure, who competed in Season 18 of the dance competition, gave her younger TV sis some tips before hitting the ballroom.
“She’s been great [and] excited for me,” Sweetin divulged, adding that her “Fuller House” co-star, who came in third during the competition, shared that “DWTS” is going to be one “one of the most exciting, physically demanding things” Sweetin will do.
But, according to Sweetin, so far her “DWTS” experience has been nothing but fun! The competitor confirmed that she’s already started rehearsing for the 2016 season with her partner Keo Motsepe.
“We got through basic moves and had a lot of fun with it,” she said. “We get along really well. He’s a phenomenal dancer.”
Sweetin then added that she’s hoping she can help Motsepe break his “DWTS” slump — and possibly win the Mirror Ball trophy! Since joining the show in 2014, the ballroom pro has yet to make it past the third round.
The official Season 22 roster of “Dancing With the Stars” will be unveiled on Tuesday, March 8, on “Good Morning America.” The 2016 installment will premiere later in the month on Monday, March 21, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
