‘Dancing With The Stars’ Contestant Antonio Brown Shares His Only Regret From Season 22
Antonio Brown left his heart on the dance floor during Week 9 of “Dancing With the Stars” — even earning his first 10 of the hit ABC competition. But despite going out with a bang, there was one regret the Season 22 contestant had after getting eliminated from the dance series.
“I just feel bad for this beautiful girl right here,” the Steeler wide receiver told E! News while embracing his partner, Sharna Burgess, “because she’s a winner and I wanted her to get a trophy.”
The Australian beauty has been competing on “DWTS” as a pro for seven seasons and has yet to take home the coveted statue. But she has come pretty close a few times! Sharna earned second place with her partner Nick Carter during Season 21 of the series and took home third when she competed with Noah Galloway in Season 20 of “DWTS.”
Antonio then sweetly added that the real trophy for him wasn’t the hunk of metal handed out during the show’s finale but the opportunity to get to know Sharna and twirl her around the ballroom for nine weeks.
“She works extremely hard,” he said. “She’s really passionate and I’m just glad to share this experience with her.”
Antonio also dished during “Good Morning America” that he enjoyed his time on “DWTS” and getting the chance to meet the contestants and pros. “[‘DWTS’ is] full of great people,” he said. “It’s been awesome.”
Team Boomin, meantime, concluded their hip-shaking journey on a high note, earning all nines for their sexy Argentine tango, which they performed with troupe member Hayley Erbert. They also earned a 28 out of 30 for the contemporary routine, even eliciting high praise from judge Len Goodman!
“That dance will go down in the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Hall of Fame for the most spectacular lift I have ever seen on the show,” the long-time judge gushed.
“Dancing With the Stars” will crown its newest king and queen of the ballroom when Season 22 airs its finale on Monday, May 23, at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
