Dancing With the Stars: My Mother is Very Supportive, Says Bono
After a long anticipated participation in the reality dance show Dancing With the Stars, Chaz Bono, fighting off every criticism that came his way, gave an amazing performance on the floor.
Bono says that though his mother Cher was shocked, she was also proud of his first performance on the show.
When The Talk co-host Molly Shannon on Wednesday asked Bono about his mother's reaction when he told her that he was going to be contesting on the show, Bono said, I think she was very supportive, but a little surprised because I'm just not known as the performer guy in the family, a UPI.com report said.
Chaz Bono, undoubtedly the most anticipated celebrity on the stage had a strong debut with his cha cha cha performance.
On the show, a confident Bono walked on to the stage with partner Lacey Schwimmer and gave an awesome performance to the tunes of Dancing in the Streets, Washington Post reported.
And what did Cher think of Bono's very first on-air dance with professional partner Lacey Schwimmer?
Pretty shocked. Yeah, Bono said. She was so proud. She cried when she saw it. So yeah, she's been so supportive, and I've been having really bad problems with my knees and ankles and she sent somebody over to work on me last night, which was really great because I do need all the help I can get at this point, he added according to a thirdage.com report said.
Bono, who is a transgender, has faced a lot of criticism from the media ever since he was selected to perform in the DWTS show.
Conservative media and critics had been arguing continuously as to his presence on the show being inappropriate because he had undergone sex change operation. But then Bono was determined and told the media that he is thick skinned, and that he will be on the show anyway.
