‘Dancing With the Stars’ Pro Kym Johnson Engaged! Robert Herjavec Pops The Question A Year After Meeting On ABC Show
Former “Dancing With the Stars” partners Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson are engaged! The 53-year-old “Shark Tank” star proposed to Johnson Saturday night with a 6.5-carat diamond ring.
“I still can’t believe that a year after walking into a dancing studio, of all places, my life has changed this much,” Herjavec told People magazine following the engagement. “Kym is an incredible woman and I’m just so excited for what the future brings for us.”
Johnson, 39, told the outlet she was “overwhelmed” and glad she got to celebrate the special moment with family and friends. People said after Herjavec popped the question, the pair returned to their home where some of her “Dancing With the Stars” cast mates and other friends were waiting. Herjavec even flew Johnson’s mom from Australia for the occasion.
“He’s a wonderful man, and I’m so lucky,” she said.
Johnson and Herjavec met during last year’s Season 20 of the ABC competition show. The pair didn’t win, but they clearly won each other’s hearts.
In January, Johnson gushed about her former dancing partner, telling Parade he was the most “enthusiastic” star she’d ever paired with.
“I had the best time ever,” she said about their time on the show together. “It was so great meeting Robert doing ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ He’s my most enthusiastic dance partner I’ve ever had. He just loved every second of it, and I think that’s why he’s so successful in everything he does, the way he throws himself into everything. It was a great way to meet, and things couldn’t be better!”
Johnson and Herjavec aren’t the only “Dancing With the Stars” couple to get engaged. As previously reported, dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy proposed to fellow pro Peta Murgatroyd in December.
