‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 18 Spoilers: Juan Pablo ‘Too Risky’ To Be On 2014 'DWTS'? ABC Reveals Why They ‘No Longer’ Want To See ‘Bachelor’ On Ballroom Floor
Juan Pablo Galavis would have made the perfect candidate to appear on the hit ABC series “Dancing With the Stars.” With more than 276,000 followers on Twitter and mesmerizing dance moves to boot, the charming “Bachelor” would have inevitably been a fan favorite if cast on the dance competition. And that’s exactly what ABC thought, too -- before the 32-year-old Latin heartthrob dropped some controversial comments regarding a potential gay “Bachelor.”
During an interview with The TV Page, Juan Pablo expressed his concerns that a gay “Bachelor” would be too “perverted” for television.
“There’s this thing about gay people -- it seems to me, I don’t know if I’m mistaken of not -- I have a lot of friends like that, but they’re more perverted in a sense. To me, the show would be too strong, too hard to watch on TV,” he said. Receiving an enormous amount of backlash from his comments, “DWTS” decided that the only thing “too hard” to watch on TV would be Juan Pablo.
“He’s just too risky,” a source connected to the dancing competition show told E! News. “There’s too much negativity at this point.”
Not only did Juan Pablo cause a stir in the casting process of “DWTS” but the former professional soccer player also manifested some drama on his very own show when two women decided to leave him amidst season 18 of the “Bachelor.” In episode 9, Andi Dorfman, who is rumored to be the next “Bachelorette,” left the series with guns a-blazing. The lawyer called Juan Pablo an “a-hole” who has “no filter.”
With that being said, “DWTS” decided it would be best to have someone on their show who does. Sorry, “Bachelor” fans -- but you won’t be seeing Juan Pablo shake his booty alongside confirmed contestants NeNe Leaks (“Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “Glee”) and Candace Cameron Bure (“Full House”).
