Daniel Craig is all set to don the iconic tuxedo of James Bond one last time in the upcoming movie "No Time To Die." After the release of the last movie in the franchise, "Spectre," it was widely reported that Craig might not be able to act in the next Bond film because of the injury he suffered while shooting the previous movie. But the actor surprised everyone when it was announced that he would be coming back for the 25th movie in the highly successful franchise.
Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 51-year-old star revealed that he had to think a lot about doing another Bond movie because of the leg injury he endured while he did "Spectre." He shared that he started to question his physical capabilities before signing to do the upcoming movie.
Craig, who will be making his fifth appearance as the famous detective, noted that he finished "Spectre" with a broken leg and he was really scared of signing another one because he does not want to call his wife and say that he has gotten injured once again. He further stated that he constantly questioned himself before making it official that he would be in the next film.
"I had to question myself: Was I physically capable of doing [another one] or did I want to do another one? Because that phone call to your wife saying 'I have broken my leg' is not pleasant," Craig said.
Interestingly, he injured himself while shooting "No Time To Die" as well, and because of which filming had to be halted for some time.
Recalling the accident, the "Knives Out" star shared that he was running down a floating Dock when he fell over and snapped his ankle. The actor felt gruelling pain after rupturing a tendon and he had to go to London for a minor surgery.
Although the doctor said that it would take 10 weeks for him to recover, Craig returned to the set in just 2 weeks.
The upcoming film will see Bond enjoying his life in Jamaica. But his peace is short-lived when one of his friends from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be really hazardous when he meets a mysterious villain armed with a dangerous and highly advanced technology.
The cast of “No Time To Die” also includes Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, as well as franchise newcomers Rami Malek, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, David Dencik, Billy Magnussen and Dali Benssalah.
The film is set to open in theaters on April 8, 2020.
