Daniel Dae Kim Reveals Antibacterial Drug Helped Him Recover From COVID-19

A few days after announcing that he tested positive for the life-threatening coronavirus, actor Daniel Dae Kim shared that he is feeling much better after receiving medical treatment and also revealed the medicine that helped him recover from the illness.

The 51-year-old actor shared a personal update on Instagram and uploaded a video to let his fans know how he was feeling after coming in contact with the disease last week. The clip started with Dae Kim expressing his gratitude toward everyone who prayed for his health. He further added that his health is getting better with each passing day.

The “Hellboy” star also noted that he is fourtunate to not get hospitalized for his deteriorating health and just had to take prescribed medication while resting in his home. The celebrity further stated that he remains to be in isolation until the situation gets better.

“I appreciate the messages of love and support on my last post. They really meant a lot to me while I was recovering. Thank you, sincerely. I am happy to report that my progress has continued and I feel practically back to normal. I am pretty much staying in bed, taking my medication. I do remain in isolation. I am to remain in isolation until Monday,” Dae Kim said.

The “Lost” actor also explained that getting normal does not mean that he has the liberty to go out and meet people. He would need to follow all the strict guidelines imposed by the authorities and remain in “curfew.”

Later in the video, Dae Kim revealed that he was taking an “antibacterial drug” named hydroxychloroquine while getting treatment. The acclaimed star believed that the antibacterial drug was “crucial” in his recovery. This is the drug that the President Donald Trump mentioned in a series of tweets last week.

“I won't say this is a cure and I won't say definitively that you should go out and use it, but what I will say is that I believe it was crucial to my recovery,” Dae Kim said.

Apart from Dae Kim, celebrities like Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Idris Elba, Olga Kurylenko and Rachel Matthews have also tested positive. Hanks and his wife have been discharged from the hospital and are following all the guidelines that have been given to them by the doctors.

On the other hand, it was recently revealed that Elba’s wife, Sabrina Dhowre, has also tested positive for coronavirus.
