Daniel Gibson Arrested For Assault And Battery: Did Fans Insult Wife Keyshia Cole?
NBA star Daniel Gibson has been arrested for assault and battery after turning himself in to the police on Monday. The 27-year-old, who played for the Cleveland Cavaliers for seven seasons, got into an altercation a few weeks ago while at an event with wife Keyshia Cole.
"Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife," the 27-year-old athlete told TMZ. "It's unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved." But Gibson believes he will be released once the details are made clear. "Once all the facts of the incident come out, I expect to be fully vindicated,” he continued.
It is believed that the alleged victims made rude comments about Cole, who performed at the music festival. The couple has a son named Daniel Gibson Jr. The relationship between Cole and Gibson, as well as Cole’s journey toward completing her latest album, "Woman to Woman," is the main storyline on their BET reality show, "Keyshia and Daniel: Family First."
Back in November, Cole was featured on Rolling Out magazine, in which she discussed when she knew Gibson was the right one for her. "I thought he was beautiful the first time we met,” she revealed.
“We had been talking for months before we physically met each other. We had ups and downs in our relationship, and we grew from it. When you make a commitment to marriage, you have to be serious about it. You can love the person you are with, but you have to be sure that you’re ready to make that commitment.
"This is not only for when times are good -- marriage is for the remainder of our lives. [It’s for] building a life and making the best life for your children.”
