A man, previously declared a person of interest in the disappearance of Michigan woman Danielle Stislicki more than 27 months ago, was charged with her presumed murder Monday. Floyd Russell Galloway Jr., 32, was charged with premeditated first-degree murder, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel officially announced Tuesday.

Stislicki was last seen leaving her office at the Raleigh Officentre complex at 10 Mile and Telegraph in Southfield on the night of Dec. 2, 2016, when she was supposed to stop at home before meeting a friend for dinner. Police said the 28-year-old did not make it to the dinner and failed to show up at work the next morning. A missing report was filed and an extensive search was conducted.

Police later found Stislicki's parked car outside her residence in Farmington Hills. Inside the vehicle was her purse with all of her credit cards.

Galloway, 32, was employed by a company contracted to provide security for MetLife, where Stislicki worked at the time of her disappearance. Police suspected Galloway's involvement in Stislicki's disappearance and searched his home, taking away a mattress as possible evidence.

According to police records, Galloway was sentenced to 18-35 years in prison in December 2017 for the kidnapping, assault with intent to commit sexual conduct and assault by strangulation in connection to an attack on a Livonia jogger in September 2016.

“This young woman had everything to live for,” Nessel said. “Her disappearance more than two years ago has left a hole in her family and they deserve justice. The Farmington Hills Police Department has gone to extraordinary lengths to uncover every piece of evidence available. That evidence is compelling.”

The Stislicki family said in a news release: “We are very grateful that the Attorney General's office is taking charge of Danielle’s case... Moving forward with the evidence that has been gathered, we feel our daughter Danielle Ann Stislicki will receive the justice she deserves.”

Galloway was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in 47th District Court in Farmington Hills. It was not immediately clear if Galloway entered a plea or retained an attorney.

Stislicki's friends and family previously described her as “friendly” and a “people person,” People magazine reported.

“If she would have gotten out of her car at her apartment building and if someone was there and asked her for help, she would have been that outgoing person who would give someone directions or help someone find a lost pet,” Holly Juip, her cousin, speculated. “It’s just heartbreaking to think about … I can’t even imagine the terror her parents must be feeling, not knowing what’s happened to her.”
