Darrelle Revis: Tim Tebow Will “Push” Mark Snchez, Jets Locker Room in “Disarray”
The media and fans aren't the only ones who seem to think the Jets are in trouble. Some Gang Green players are worried about the state of the team as well.
Darelle Revis appeared on ESPN today to promote fan voting for the cover of Madden 13.
When asked to give one word describing the Jets locker room, the cornerback answered, Disarray.
Revis said at the end of the 2011 Season, the team had a lot of issues.
There were a lot of things going on with guys wanting the ball. When it's like that and you're losing, it gets a little bit more frustrating, that's all.
Revis was referring to Santonio Holmes, who had a feud with Mark Sanchez as the Jets started losing games down the stretch.
The cornerback was very honest, somewhat questioning his quarterback. Revis said newly acquired Tim Tebow might push him a little bit more.
For much of last season, many people called for the jets to acquire a better backup quarterback, one that might force Sanchez to fear for his job security.
41-year old veteran Mark Brunell was the Jets second-string quarterback for New York in 2010 and 2011. He was never much competition for Sanchez.
Shortly after the Jets missed the playoffs, an anonymous player on the team called Sanchez lazy and wondered about his effort.
After his comments, Revis quickly assured viewers that he supports Sanchez.
Not to say that Mark needs to get pushed, but in a way that, you know, Tebow is a winning quarterback. Mark is a winning quarterback, too; you got to understand that Mark took us to two AFC Championship Games.
New York has been making headlines for the past week, and the season doesn't get underway for another six months
