David Beckham Sends 50 Pairs Of Underwear Brand To Obama
Global soccer star David Beckham sent a box full of 50 pairs of his signature underwear to President Barack Obama, British tabloid The Sun reports.
When Beckham visited the White House with his team, the Los Angeles Galaxy, in March, Obama praised him, saying, It's a rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear.
The Sun says Obama and his wife Michelle were very impressed by Beckham's brand of underwear and the first lady had insisted that he wear them. The article quoted a source close to the White House who confirmed that Beckham had promised to send a box of undies to the president.
The article further reported that David Beckham is popular not only with the president and his wife but also is a big hit with first daughters Malia, 14 and Sasha, 11.
This White House source added that the girls had put up signed posters of the soccer player on their bedroom walls. Confirming the Beckham craze in the Obama household, the source stated: Michelle and the kids think he's a real hunk. They all made an effort to meet him when he went to Washington and also hung out with him at a basketball final in LA. In their eyes, the fact their dad is pals with him is good for Barack's standing.
David Beckham, who models H&M's underwear line himself, had already told Extra in an interview that he was going to send Obama the box, but it arrived only this weekend.
