Amid rumors that David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham are heading for a divorce, a new report said that the couple is "barreling towards splitsville" by splitting their "financial empire." The report by the National Enquirer was, however, debunked by Gossip Cop.

“Soccer star David is taking a penalty kick — against his fashion diva wife,” the National Enquirer said, as cited by Gossip Cop. “The power couple has split their financial empire into separate pieces — adding fuel to the fire that the two are ready to divorce.” The report also said citing a source that David “recently resigned as director of his wife’s fashion label.”

Last month, rumors about Victoria ending her business partnership with David made the rounds, giving rise to speculation that the two may get divorced.

“There is a lot of buzz around the industry that David and Victoria are on the verge of a divorce,” a source told Radar Online last month. “It’s no secret that they lead separate lives.

“They are waiting for a quiet time to make a short announcement about the status of their relationship,” the source said, adding: “They don’t want a lot of attention around it. There won’t be any drama.”

Last month, Radar Online also spotted David and Victoria leaving a SoulCycle class in Brentwood, California, together. The report said that the couple did not smile as they left the gym.
